It's time for fall conferences! I am trying a website called SignUp Genius this year! Be looking in your inbox for your invite! Hopefully I have entered times that work for you. If not, feel free to email me and we can work it out! I am hoping to have all conferences done by October 8! Today we had a wonderful surprise! We came to school and had butterflies!!! In the first 15 minutes of school, we had 6 butterflies, including Moni!!! Here is a time lapse video of the butterfly eclosing (the scientific term for coming out of your shell!)
Mrs. Jaume, Mrs. Carmen and I had the best time catching and tagging monarchs on Saturday!!! I can't wait to share what we learned with the kids! Monarch Tagging from Jessica Green on Vimeo. We will be going on to our gardens at 9:20! Not 8:30! Sorry for the confusion, I forgot that we have Media Center at 8:30!
Friday will be All Things STEM! We need volunteers in the morning from 8:30-12:00! Please let me know if you can come! Also, please have students wear their work clothes because we will be working in our gardens. Today we got to watch Moni the Monarch form her chrysalis! She split her skin and formed her chrysalis! Coolest...thing...ever!
Thank you to everyone who ordered from our Scholastic Book Order! And to those who order from the Teacher Wish List! I am THRILLED with all the books for our classroom! I am sending home books today, so please let me know if something is not right with your order! The Book Fair is HERE until next Wednesday, Sept. 10! There are some awesome books! Be sure to check out the Guided Reading level on some of the I Can Read books!Hey All! We are looking for some tea cups and saucers that we can turn into butterfly feeders! If you or your grandparents have any laying around the house and would like to see them put to good use, please send them our way! The shallow tea cups are best, but we won't be picky! Thanks :)Photo taken from http://www.lushome.com/35-creative-backyard-designs-adding-interest-landscaping-ideas/104786 |
